Pham Van Toi has more than 10 years of experience in bioanalytical method development and validation. He is currently responsible for the Clinical Pharmacology lab; which is based within OUCRU in partnership with Hospital for Tropical Diseases Ho Chi Minh City, Viet Nam. Pham Van Toi joined OUCRU in 2004 as senior research pharmacist. From 2006 to 2007, he was member of Pharmacy Committee of SEA Influenza Clinical Research Network (SEAICRN) and supported setting up the Pharmacy Department in HTD, CH1 and CH2 in HCMC for SEAICRN. Besides, he was involved in designing and performing the pharmacokinetic study: Orally formulated artemisinin in healthy fasting Vietnamese male subjects: a randomized, four-sequence, open-label, pharmacokinetic crossover study. He then has been assigned as pharmacologist and worked for the new Pharmacology Lab, which was established in 2008 within OUCRU. His main research areas are designed to adapt and satisfy to the demands of the research groups and clinical personnel responsible for patient cares including to develop, validate the HPLC methods to measure concentrations of many drugs (Acyclovir, Antituberculosis, Levofloxacin, Beta-lactam antibiotics, Chloroquine) in biological fluids such as plasma, blood, urine and Cerebro-Spinal Fluid (CSF) for pharmacokinetic studies.

Prior to OUCRU, Pham Van Toi worked as lecturer for Department of Botany in Faculty of Pharmacy-University of Medicine and Pharmacy Ho Chi Minh City (1983-1990), then he moved to Roussel Viet Nam (Vietnamese-French Joint-venture Pharmaceutical Company) and undertook different positions: Product manager, Marketing Director Associate, Zone Manager, Logistic and Purchasing Manager (1990-2004). Pham Van Toi, graduated as Pharmacist in 1982, and obtained his Master of Science in Pharmacy with thesis “Pharmacokinetics of Ofloxacin in Vietnamese healthy Volunteers” in 2001 from University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Ho Chi Minh City, Viet Nam. He is author and co-author in publishing about 7 articles in journals.
