Phan Hai Trieu, MSc.

PhD Student – CNS and HIV Infections Group.

Phan Hai Trieu obtained his BSc in Biology from the University of Science in Ho Chi Minh City and his MSc in Bioscience from the University of Leeds in the UK. Trieu’s current research interests are the epidemiology, ecology and population structures of pathogens and causes of human disease in Viet Nam. Trieu has been using multilocus sequence typing to investigate genetic diversity of clinical and environmental isolates of Cryptococcus pathogens, and understanding their geographical locations. He is also interested in using the Galleria mellonella infection model to investigate pathogenicity of genotype-specific Cryptococcus isolates.
