Background <\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The Oxford University Clinical Research Unit (OUCRU) is a large-scale clinical and public health research unit, with sites offices in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi in Vietnam, Jakarta in Indonesia and Kathmandu in Nepal. In Vietnam, we are hosted by the Hospital of Tropical Diseases (HTD) in Ho Chi Minh City, and the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases (NHTD) in Hanoi. OUCRU Nepal closely collaborates with the National Academy of Medical Sciences in Kathmandu, and OUCRU Indonesia exists in partnership with the University of Indonesia. As a Wellcome Trust Africa Asia Programme, we have received considerable support from the Wellcome Trust since our establishment in 1991.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

OUCRU\u2019s vision is to have local, regional and global impact on health by leading a locally driven research programme<\/sup> on infectious diseases in Southeast Asia. Priority is given to health issues important to the hospitals where we work, and to the countries as a whole where we operate: Vietnam, Indonesi<\/sup>a and Nepal. All work is intended not only to benefit the patients seen daily at our host hospitals, but also to help improve pa<\/sup>tient care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Job summary<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

As a District Education Officer, you\u2019ll play a key role in driving a culture of data for action turning insights into real, measurable improvements in health services at the district level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Key responsibilities and tasks<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Support PHC teams in analyzing public health dashboard data (maternal & child health, nutrition, immunization, communicable & non-communicable diseases).
\u2022 Assist in developing data-driven action plans with measurable steps.
\u2022 Organize and facilitate participative learning sessions guided by health dashboards.
\u2022 Train and support cadres and health workers in implementing prescribed actions.
\u2022 Promote a cultural shift toward active use of data for service and operational enhancement.
\u2022 Continuously monitor and report progress on implemented actions and outcome<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Selection criteria<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Bachelor’s degree in public health, Medical Sciences, Statistics, Social Sciences, or related field, with a strong public health foundation\/experience.
\u2022 Full professional proficiency in English.
\u2022 Data literacy: skilled in interpreting PHC dashboards, identifying trends, and spotting healthcare service\/operational gaps.
\u2022 Contextualization skills: ability to translate data insights into actionable strategies for accurate PHC service improvement.
\u2022 Collaboration skills: actively engage with a wide range of stakeholders \u2014 including district officials, and healthcare workers from diverse professional & cultural backgrounds.
\u2022 Preferred Qualifications: 2\u20133 years of professional experience working within or alongside PHC or related health networks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
