presented by Ms <a href=\"https:\/\/www.oucru.org\/people\/huynh-xuan-yen\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Huynh Xuan Yen<\/a>, Pharm, OUCRU.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>&#8220;The association between antibiotic resistance and pneumococcal serotypes with invasive pneumococcal infections including meningitis and blood-stream infections in children&#8221; presented by Ms Dang Nguyen Huong Trinh, MD, MSc, PNTU.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>&#8220;The distribution of pneumococcal serotypes and their antibiotic resistance in children with community-acquired pneumonia&#8221; presented by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.oucru.org\/people\/nguyen-trung-thanh\/\">Dr Nguyen Trung Thanh<\/a>, PhD, OUCRU.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>&#8220;The prevalence of co-infection with multiple pathogens in children with community-acquired pneumonia&#8221; With a high satisfaction score of 9\/10, the workshop also demonstrated strong and productive research collaborations and provided an excellent platform for the dissemination of project findings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Via project implementation, OUCRU provided the opportunities for training of medical professionals, including one medical resident, one specialist level II for Children Hospital No. 2 and three Master&#8217;s graduates, who are lecturers at the Microbiology Department of Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine; and one MSc student for Zoonoses group at OUCRU. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ndm.ox.ac.uk\/study\/dphil-themes?project=understanding-the-genetic-relatedness-and-virulence-of-the-carriage-and-invasive-pneumococcal-disease-associated-streptococcus-pneumoniae-in-children-from-the-south-of-vietnam\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">The project is seeking a PhD candidate<\/a> to join the research team and help advance these critical studies.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These trainings were successful thanks to the collaborative efforts between OUCRU scientists and professional educators, Prof Ngo Minh Xuan, Assoc Prof Pham Thi Minh Hong, Specialist level II Dr Trinh Huu Tung, Specialist level II Dr Nguyen Minh Ngoc, Dr Huynh Minh Tuan, and Dr Tran Thi Hue Van. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.oucru.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/4-Audience--scaled.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" src=\"https:\/\/www.oucru.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/4-Audience--1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-44375\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.oucru.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/4-Audience--1024x683.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.oucru.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/4-Audience--300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.oucru.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/4-Audience--768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.oucru.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/4-Audience--1536x1025.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/www.oucru.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/4-Audience--2048x1366.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/a><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><em>The workshop aims to update healthcare workers and students on the latest developments in pneumococcal infections<\/em>&nbsp;<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The workshop not only provided professional information but also research into clinical practice, ultimately advancing patient care and public health.&nbsp;Organised under the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.oucru.org\/project\/chances\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">CHANCES<\/a> project, this workshop is part of a larger study investigating <em>Streptococcus pneumoniae<\/em> carriage in Vietnamese children.
