Sarita Syantang

Public Engagement Assistant

Sarita Syantang has a diverse range of experience in social work and community development.

She worked as an intern at the Association of Youth Organizations Nepal (AYON), where she gained valuable insights into the challenges facing young people in Nepal and the ways in which community-based organizations can support them.

During her time at Awaj Aviyan Nepal (AAN), Sarita served as a community facilitator on the Commercial Sexual Exploitation Against Children (CSEC) project and as a social mobilizer on the Safer Migration (SaMi) project. Through these roles, she developed a deep understanding of the social, economic, and legal factors that contribute to human trafficking and exploitation, and she became passionate about pursuing research in this area.

Currently, Sarita is working as a Public Engagement Assistant on the FIND (The Foundation for Innovative New Diagnostics) and SPEAR (Social Science and Public Engagement Action Research), and AMR (Antimicrobial Resistance) projects of OUCRU. Her work focuses on engaging with communities to raise awareness about antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and promote behaviour change to help reduce the spread of drug-resistant infections.
