Hoàng Thanh Hải

Postdoctoral Scientist

Hoang Thanh Hai is a Postdoctoral Scientist in the TB Group at OUCRU HCMC, where he continues his research following the completion of his PhD in 2025.

His research focuses on the immunopathogenesis of tuberculosis, particularly tuberculous meningitis, and on understanding the mechanisms underlying treatment response and clinical outcomes. He uses genomic and multi-omics approaches together with advanced statistical modelling to investigate host determinants of disease outcomes and to identify biomarkers and therapeutic targets for host-directed therapies.

Hai’s main research interests are omics-based studies of tuberculosis, including pulmonary tuberculosis and tuberculous meningitis. He uses bioinformatics approaches in transcriptomics, genomics, and single-cell data analysis to investigate host immune responses and the role of inflammation in disease pathogenesis, treatment response, and clinical outcomes. His work aims to identify biomarkers, molecular pathways, and therapeutic targets that can support the development of host-directed therapies and precision medicine approaches for tuberculosis and other infectious diseases.
