The Scalable Public Health Empowerment, Research, and Education Sites (SPHERES) is a data-driven initiative to strengthen integrated primary healthcare in Indonesia. As part of the SPHERES Project, “Building Trust and Participation for Hepatitis B Serosurveys” funded by the PCE Seed Award, carries this opportunity forward by providing momentum and open an opportunity to actively involve community representatives in shaping awareness of Hepatitis B within their communities.

The discussions among Community Advisory Boards at OUCRU have been helping the researchers understand more about the public concerns and get feedback from the community that can be beneficial to their research.

This study uses CBPR to engage with communities to create community-led strategies to improve linkages to care and treatment for populations at risk for viral hepatitis.

This project has increased patient knowledge and reduced concerns about Hepatitis C virus (HCV) prevention. It has also led to more patients inquiring about HCV and the eligibility criteria for participating in HCV trials.
