Dr Hồ Quang Chánh

Head of Dengue Group

Dr Ho Quang Chanh is a clinician-scientist at the Oxford University Clinical Research Unit (OUCRU). He is also an honorary clinician at the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit, Hospital for Tropical Diseases, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

Dr Chanh trained as a paediatrician in major hospitals in Vietnam, holds a Master of Public Health from the University of Edinburgh, and a DPhil in Clinical Medicine from the University of Oxford. He is now leading a translational programme of dengue research spanning clinical trials, pathogenesis studies, physiological monitoring, and innovative digital technology, including wearable devices and the application of artificial intelligence to clinical decision support systems.

His work focuses on improving the management and monitoring of patients with dengue in low- and middle-income countries through rigorously conducted research and its implementation, with a particular interest in personalised medicine and linked big data.
