Narayan Kunwar

Microbiologist

Narayan Kunwar is a microbiologist at OUCRU Nepal, deeply passionate about the microbial world and its influence on human health. His expertise centers on infectious diseases, with a particular emphasis on antimicrobial resistance (AMR). Narayan’s research is driven by a strong dedication to improving public health through innovative and evidence-based scientific inquiry. He is actively involved in several major research projects, including the ACT–South Asia Trial, which investigates the use of Azithromycin and Cefixime for treating typhoid, as well as ACORN – Phase 2 and ACORN–HAI, both of which focus on hospital-acquired infections and AMR surveillance. In addition to these projects, Narayan contributes to microbial genomics through sequencing and bioinformatics, enhancing the understanding of pathogens in resource-limited settings.
