Dr. Tran Tan Thanh began his research career as a Research Assistant at OUCRU in 2000, immediately after graduating from the Ho Chi Minh University of Science (HCMUS). While working at OUCRU, he pursued further education, obtaining an MSc in Biochemistry from HCMUS in 2004 and a PhD in Life Sciences from the Open University in 2011.
Over the past decades, he has been involved in various studies on emerging infections, including SARS-CoV-1 (2003), avian influenza H5N1 (2004–2008), pH1N1 influenza (2009), HFMD (2011–present), COVID-19 (2020–present), and Mpox (2022–present). His research contributions have resulted in over 80 peer-reviewed articles.
