About
Hugo joined OUCRU in August 2016 and is establishing a health economics research team within the unit. His role is to build in-house capacity to design and perform health economic analyses and his team is currently developing a wide range of health economic studies – including projects on dengue, hepatitis C and tetanus.

Hugo received a MSc in Epidemiology and a PhD in Infectious Disease Dynamics from Imperial College London (2010-2014). After his PhD, Hugo took a position as the Research Stream Leader for Health Economics at the London Centre for Neglected Tropical Disease Research, working with Professor Sir Roy M Anderson. His research focused on incorporating health economics into dynamic transmission models, and conducting field studies to collect cost data.
