Her research interest covers microbiology, bacteria and parasitic infectious diseases, antibiotic resistance, and molecular and clinical microbiology. She has been involved in dozens of surveillance and outbreak studies of anthrax, diarrheal bacterial pathogens (typhoid, cholera, shigellosis), and sexually transmitted diseases.
