Biorepository Manager

Le Duy Hoang Chuong manages OUCRU’s biorepository operations and biosecurity systems.

Mr Le Duy Hoang Chuong joined OUCRU in December 2024 as Biorepository Manager for the OUCRU Laboratories. He brings with him a rich background in both public health practice and scientific research.

Prior to joining OUCRU, he worked for 15 years at the Pasteur Institute in Ho Chi Minh City (PIHCMC), where he held several key roles: Quality Manager and Biosafety Officer for the National Reference HIV/AIDS Laboratory, Project Officer for a US CDC–PIHCMC cooperative agreement on strengthening essential public health functions, and Team Lead for International Cooperation and Scientific Research Management.

At OUCRU, he is responsible for managing the biorepository programme, including the development and implementation of protocols for specimen handling, sample tracking through the Freezerworks system, cold chain management, and temperature monitoring. He also oversees the development of administrative tools such as SOPs, guidelines, and instructions for biosecurity procedures.

His future goals include streamlining operations through automation of sample processing, storage, and retrieval; enhancing data security; promoting best practices and training; and improving resource efficiency to ensure a sustainable and resilient biorepository system.
