Background
The Oxford University Clinical Research Unit (OUCRU) is a large-scale clinical and public health research unit, with sites offices in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi in Vietnam, Jakarta in Indonesia and Kathmandu in Nepal. In Vietnam, we are hosted by the Hospital of Tropical Diseases (HTD) in Ho Chi Minh City, and the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases (NHTD) in Hanoi. OUCRU Nepal closely collaborates with the National Academy of Medical Sciences in Kathmandu, and OUCRU Indonesia exists in partnership with the University of Indonesia. As a Wellcome Trust Africa Asia Programme, we have received considerable support from the Wellcome Trust since our establishment in 1991.
OUCRU’s vision is to have local, regional and global impact on health by leading a locally driven research programme on infectious diseases in Southeast Asia. Priority is given to health issues important to the hospitals where we work, and to the countries as a whole where we operate: Vietnam, Indonesia and Nepal. All work is intended not only to benefit the patients seen daily at our host hospitals, but also to help improve patient care.

Job Summary
The SPHERES Project at Oxford University Clinical Research Unit Indonesia (OUCRU-ID) is building data ecosystems to strengthen Primary Health Care (PHC). We are looking for a Business Intelligence Analyst who will not only design impactful Tableau dashboards, but also investigate and improve the quality of data flows that drive these insights. Your work will help ensure that PHC data is reliable, accessible, and actionable for program monitoring and research.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Computer/Data Science, Public Health, Biomedical Engineering, or related field.
- 1–2 years of professional experience with Tableau and SQL (BigQuery preferred).
- Experience with analytics tools such as R or Python.
- Solid understanding of data analytics and statistical concepts.
- Strong skills in data cleaning, documentation, and validation.
- Full professional proficiency in English (written & spoken).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with health data or within healthcare/public health networks.
- Familiarity with data governance, version control, and reproducible workflows.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, optimize, and maintain Tableau dashboards for PHC programmatic and research reporting.
- Investigate and monitor data flows from PHC facilities, digital platforms, and dashboards.
- Perform routine data quality checks, ensuring datasets are clean, consistent, and well-documented.
- Troubleshoot data issues in collaboration with field and partner teams; support continuous improvement of data pipelines.
- Ensure robust processes for data versioning, backup, and access control.
