Experiences and challenges related to vaccination in routine practice and during the COVID-19 pandemic of healthcare workers and the communities in Dak Lak Province

Funded by:
Wellcome Public Engagement Award to OUCRU

This project sought to explore barriers to childhood vaccination and to work with healthcare workers to improve uptake, particularly amongst ethnic minority communities who had a lower engagement with vaccine uptake within Dak Lak province.

Through the research and engagement with communities in Dak Lak, it became evident that support was needed for social healthcare workers and village vaccine workers involved in routine immunization programs. We developed a training curriculum with a focus on health communication and vaccine knowledge training.
