Overview 

The BRIDGE Study aims to understand community perceptions of maternal vaccination in Nepal and co-design culturally appropriate communication strategies to support future maternal vaccine programs and research. 

Working with community members, healthcare providers, and OUCRU Nepal’s Community Advisory Board (CAB), the project will explore knowledge, concerns, and information needs related to maternal vaccination. Through participatory engagement activities, stakeholders will help develop communication approaches that reflect local perspectives and priorities. 

Objectives 

• Understand community perceptions and attitudes towards maternal vaccination 

• Identify barriers and facilitators to vaccine acceptance 

• Co-design culturally appropriate communication materials and engagement strategies 

• Strengthen community involvement in maternal and infectious disease research 

Expected Impact 

The project will generate community-informed insights to support maternal vaccination initiatives in Nepal. By bringing together communities, healthcare providers, and researchers, the study aims to develop practical communication resources, strengthen trust and dialogue, and ensure that future maternal vaccine programs are responsive to local needs.
