iSHARP – Integrated Stewardship in Hospitals for Antimicrobial Resistance Control Platform

Hospital-acquired infections and antimicrobial resistance (AMR) remain major challenges for the healthcare system in Viet Nam. Although the Ministry of Health has issued multiple national strategies and guidelines on antimicrobial stewardship (AMS), infection prevention and control (IPC), and AMR surveillance up to 2030, implementation at provincial and district hospitals still faces certain challenges, particularly in the context of uneven resources and infrastructure. In practice, hospitals already operate multiple data systems that mainly serve specific professional purposes; as a result, data connectivity and integrated use across systems have not yet been fully harmonized or optimized.

Audit & Feedback: A core AMS activity for bettercare and safer hospitals

In hospitals, ensuring high-quality treatment is always a top priority so that patients receive safe and effective care. To maintain this standard, routinely reviewing the treatment process is essential, helping hospitals promptly identify areas that may need adjustment and continuously improve the way care is delivered.
