Molecular Microbiologist

As a molecular microbiologist, Tam helped develop molecular techniques for the National Reference Lab for AMR, National Hospital for Tropical Diseases, Hanoi, Vietnam, especially whole genome sequencing clinical pathogens.

She is interested in molecular mechanisms of antibiotic resistance of multi-drug resistant bacterial pathogens, such as Neisseria gonorrhoeae, gram-negative bacilli, Streptococcus pneumoniae, Staphylococcus aureus. Currently, she is focusing on the genomic epidemiology of SARS-CoV-2.
