Dr. Shristi is a medical doctor with a strong foundation in public health and clinical research. She holds an MBBS from Kathmandu Medical College Teaching Hospital in Nepal and a Master’s in Public Health (MPH) from Mahidol University in Thailand. Her expertise spans infectious diseases, including influenza, COVID-19, pneumonia, sepsis, dengue, and Zika virus. She has significant experience in managing and contributing to multi-center adaptive platform trials, such as AD ASTRA and PLATCOV, which focus on evaluating antiviral pharmacodynamics in early symptomatic cases. Currently, she is involved in innovative research projects like DiTi, which explores the use of wearable devices and real-time AI for monitoring hospitalized patients, and a multicountry analysis of disease burden, immunogenicity, and population-level risk. Her work reflects a strong integration of digital health technologies, epidemiological analysis, and clinical trial management.
As part of her career achievements, Dr. Shristi served as a Project Coordinator at the Kathmandu Institute of Child Health (KIOCH), where she led the PEN-Plus Partnership: Country Level PEN-Plus Project Initiation and Implementation in Nepal. This initiative focused on expanding access to care for severe non-communicable diseases (NCDs) among underserved populations. In addition to her leadership role, she actively contributed to various research projects under the Nepal NCDI-Poverty Commission, also based at KIOCH. Her work there emphasized childhood NCDIs and the application of Time-Driven Activity-Based Costing (TDABC) to improve health system efficiency and resource allocation. These roles highlight her commitment to advancing equitable healthcare and her expertise in project implementation and health economics.
