Thao has been involved in OUCRU Ha Noi’s studies to understand and reduce antimicrobial use and antimicrobial resistance through complex interventions in Northern Vietnam, supporting the implementation of community surveys and participatory learning and action interventions, as well as process evaluation.

Additionally, she is part of a social science study into the socio-cultural impacts of COVID-19 in three Asian countries, with a particular interest in the experiences of vulnerable communities in the COVID-19 pandemic.
