This investigation provides important evidence illustrating the short- and long-term impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on the rising of carbapenem-resistant K. pneumoniae in hospitals and the clinical outcome of infected patients.

The prevalence of carbapenem-resistant pneumoniae (CRKP) causing nosocomial pneumonia increased remarkably during the COVID-19 pandemic in Vietnam.

In this project, we combine genomic and clinical information to describe the temporal changes in drug resistance profile, population genetic structures, and transmission dynamics of major K. pneumoniae clones and link these data with antibiotic treatment and patient outcome.
