Identification Of Potential Virulence Genes-Associated With Streptococcus Suis Infection In Humans Using Whole-Genome Sequencing Data

Streptococcus suis is an important bacterial pathogen in pigs and also an agent of emerging severe diseases in humans. The project aims to construct a virulence gene database for S. suis which could be applied to screen for the prevalence of those potential virulence genes in the genome of S. suis strains and suggest potential virulence genes involved in the pathogenicity in humans.
