Dr Areeya Disratthakit has led implementation projects and managed public health programs focused on infectious disease surveillance and control in Southeast Asia. Her proven track record includes research, technical oversight, and epidemiological surveillance of drug-resistant pathogens. Her expertise spans laboratory operations, data analysis, research publication, mentoring, partnership engagement, and technical team management. She is dedicated to applying laboratory findings to the diagnosis, investigation, and surveillance of infectious diseases.
In 2025, Dr Areeya Disratthakit joined MORU, bringing her passion to capacity building and research support from a distinguished career in infectious disease research. She leads the MORU – OUCRU Discovery Research Academy (MODRA) in Thailand, collaborating with leaders from Vietnam and Indonesia. She supports early to mid-career post-doctoral researchers in low- and middle-income countries in Asia through collaboration, networking, and fostering excellence in mentorship. She promotes continual dialogue with stakeholders and partners to share best practices and enhance research culture.
