Dr Suchita Shrestha

Senior Research Fellow

Dr Suchita Shrestha focuses on studying COVID-19, emerging infections, antimicrobial resistance, and vaccines. She holds an MBBS and an MPH degree and has achieved significant milestones in her career.

Dr Suchita Shrestha has actively participated in several research projects conducted by OUCRU, including TyVAC (Assessing the impact of a Vi-Polysaccharide Conjugate Vaccine in preventing typhoid infection among Nepalese children – a Phase III trial), TyVOID (Assessing the medium-term impact of a Vi-Polysaccharide Conjugate Vaccine in preventing typhoid infections among Nepali children), COPCOV (Chloroquine/ Hydroxychloroquine Prevention of Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) in the Healthcare Setting), and RECOVERY(Randomized Evaluation of Covid-19 Therapy).

2020

Health and Safety Committee member at Nepal.

In this role, she reviews Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), policy documents, and other documents related to health and safety. She provides support in any issues related to the health and safety of OUCRU-NP staff.

2019 – 2020

Worked as a freelance researcher, where she developed research proposals for the Child Health Research Project at the Department of Paediatrics, Institute of Medicine, Tribhuvan University, and the Kathmandu Institute of Child Health.

2017 – 2019

Worked as a Senior Research Officer for the Child Health Research Project at the Institute of Medicine, Tribhuvan University. Dr Suchita Shrestha has extensive experience working in the healthcare sector.
