What is Public and Commumity Engagement?

What is Public and Community Engagement?

We aim to put people at the heart of our research. By involving patients, communities and the public in our work we can make our research more relevant and accessible.

The context of Public and Community Engagement at OUCRU

Oxford University Clinical Research Unit is at the leading edge of applied clinical research. Along with the development of sciences and technologies in the region, there is an urgent need for a better understanding and communication of science and health issues in the social, cultural and historical context of our research communities. To this end, the Public and Community Engagement teams work to strengthen research partnerships by bringing communities and scientists together. Our vision is to conduct evidence driven engagement that supports OUCRU to deliver ethical and relevant research that is valued by its communities and to promote broader science literacy in our societies.
