Marc Choisy is a biomathematician interested in the modeling of the transmission dynamics of infectious diseases. His approach is to develop mathematical models and to fit them to real data, most of the time from population-level surveillance systems. This allows to test hypotheses on mechanisms at work and to perform quantitative predictions. He is particularly interested in questions on seasonality, spatial dynamics, climatic and environmental drivers, and optimal control of infectious diseases. He works mostly on dengue fever and influenza. Marc is currently in the process of developing new research on antimicrobial resistance (AMR), where the goal is the quantify and understand the dynamics of emergence and spread of AMR within and between different interconnected compartments (hospitals, community, farms, environment).
Dr Marc Choisy has published more than 40 articles in international journals, 8 book chapters and co-edited one text book (in French).
