Collab Lab is a co-creation platform that brings young people (as science communicators and audiences) and scientists together with three main goals:

1. Build connections between young people and scientists.
2. Enable scientists to share research findings with young people, building understanding and trust in science.
3. Provide a space for young people to provide feedback on scientific research through online and offline events.

To achieve these goals, the Collab Lab team collaborates with research scientists to create a series of short animation videos that summarise and explain research findings. The animation video production process consists of five stages, each requiring approval from scientists to ensure accuracy.

In addition to the animation videos, Collab Lab organises various online and offline activities to encourage feedback from young audiences once the videos are published. One of the standout events is the annual “Meet the Scientists” activity, which has become a key highlight of the Collab Lab programme.
